GAME HIGHLIGHTS 10/12/2008 for the New Mite Jr. Titans
GAME UNDERWAY
OHH…  the kids are looking good Hey, lots of passing and lots of shooting.  This was there first game with the new uniforms and boy did they look sharp. It was a very close game 3 to 2 the Blue Team won this week scoring a goal late in the 3rd period. CJ Emery was in the nets for the Green Team, this was his first game ever in the nets with only one practice under his belt, he shows signs of being a natural in the nets.   His brother Chris Emery scored the second goal for the Green Team, last week he scored 4 goals, he flies and is developing some good moves, goes for the net when he crosses that blue line, he would have scored more this week if it wasn’t for the back checking of Joey Shy he goes both ways, he scored the 1st goal for the Blue Team, he’s a real hustler. Nicholas Marcris scored two goals for the Blue Team, he’s another hustler and a good listener he goes after the puck at the right time and gets the puck on the net. Then there’s Luc Balcon he scored the first goal for the Green Team, he’s got a lot of potential and hustles in the corners. We can’t forget Drew Ahluwalia winning those faceoffs and setting Shy up for his first goal. Without his hustling and digging in those corners the goal would have never happened, same has to be said for Brett Jordan this kids not afraid of the corners and gets the job done he too got the               puck to Marcris who scored the winning goal with a pass from Jordan.
All the rest of the Blue Team; Matthew Barri (lots of potential), AJ Rosato (gets into it), Zac Abrhim (awesome skater), Justin Pioletti (110 percenter) and Spencer Burke (keep your eye on him), all did a great job not one loafer out there.                   Makes Coaching easy.
Same goes for the Green Team; Luke Takashema (big improvement already), David Babros (hustler, watch him), Nicholas Goldenberg (big shot coming), Dylan Mark (heads up defensemen), Seth Fulton (winning faceoffs), Alden Shive (digger) and Luc Balcon (gonna score) again not a loafer in the bunch. Head Coach of the Green Team is Brian Mark, he had only one thing to say “enjoy it while it last” GAME ON!
Special thanks to JP for volunteering to be our offical Referee.
See-you Sunday…………..GAME ON!!!

Dear Hockey/Skating Program Parents,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and give you some insight into my hockey background and rink management.

As President of Ice World Consulting Company and former collegiate Division I hockey player, I am dedicated to develop individual and team performance to the maximum attainable level.  I have over 20 years of ice arena operation experience and operate one of the largest travel clubs in New Jersey, the New Jersey Junior Titans.  The club includes Junior A, Junior B, AAA, AA, A/B and In-House Programs.  The foundation of the Junior Titans program was built on player development and advancement.  Over 125 Junior Titan players have been placed in Collegiate, Professional and Major/Junior ranks.  My unique method of developing coaches has contributed to the clubs success in not only guiding but educating my staff in player development.

Through my relationships, the Palos Verdes Ice Chalet will not only benefit from collegiate exposure but also NHL exposure.  We are excited to announce Sebastien Fortier as head coach of player development.  He will be involved with house league practices, lessons, clinics, tournaments and camps.  Sebastien has been involved with hockey for 30 years and played professional for nine years.  He started teaching hockey in 2000 and now run’s the world’s largest hockey program and tournament.  Sebastien’s passion for youth hockey will enhance your child’s excitement to learn and progress to the next level.

Sebastien Fortier has been hired to handle the weekly practices along with coaches Kyle Molina and Chris Shy for both Mite and Squirt in-house teams and will be attending one Sunday practice per month to note and comment on the progress of our teams.

We are excited to have your child as part of our hockey program at Palos Verdes Ice Chalet.
We look forward to developing players through education, experience and fun.

Sincerely,

George Haviland

—————————————————

Good day,

This email is to inform you of my involvement with the Ice Chalet.  I have been hired to handle the weekly practices with Kyle Molina and Chris Shy for both Mites and Squirts in-house teams and will also be attending one Sunday per month to note and comment on the progress of our teams.  I will be there this Sunday.  The arena’s new management company has reached out to me to elevate the skills level of all players and make everyone’s hockey experience an enjoyable one.

Skills will strictly be taught during our weekly clinic, which is held every Tuesday from 7:20 - 8:20 PM.  An adult clinic has been added from 8:30 - 9:30 on Tuesdays as well.  Online registration for all clinics will open very shortly on our NEW web site.  As the clinics become more popular and the word gets out, I will be adding help from elite players.

Skills are also being taught during my group lessons on Tuesdays and Thursday from 4:15 - 5:00.  The current groups are formed of 3 to 5 players on both days and I can take up to 8 players per group.  If you are interested into joining a group, please contact me via email or at my office.  Tuesday is reserved for younger players and Thursday for 8-10 yrs, old.

Also, the Ice Chalet administration has decided to keep their name with the addition of a new logo.  New flyers and advertising paperwork will be sent shortly.

Please feel free to come up to me at the rink and introduce yourself as I would love to meet all of you and I’m looking forward to this new endeavor.

Sincerely,

Sebastien Fortier
